New seminar in the series “IA y Big Data: Impacto, Aplicación y Transferencia” organized by the UC3M-Santander Big Data Institute (IBiDat), where real-world problems in different fields and the solutions provided using all available data will be presented. The seminars aim to be a meeting point for professionals and academics to present problems and analyze possible solutions based on Big Data.

The next seminar will be held on Wednesday, April 29, from 16:00 to 17:30. It will be an in-person event. It will take place at the Universidad Carlos III campus in Getafe,  room 15.1.01.

On this occasion, the seminar will be titled “From National Coverage to Global Platforms: Evolving the Mobile Network Architecture” and will be given by Andra Lutu, Principal Researcher at Telefónica Innovación Digital, Head of Applied Research.

Summary:

Cellular connectivity is no longer defined by a single operator or a single country — and the infrastructure making that possible is far more complex than it looks from the outside.
In this upcoming talk, we’ll be sharing measurement-based results that reveal how today’s global mobile operators really work, where the roaming-based model hits its limits, and what comes next for global connectivity at scale.

The session will be held in English.

The seminars are open and free of charge. They are organized by Yaiza Rubio and Lucía Salamanca (instituto.bigdata@uc3m.es), whom you can contact for additional information.
